  Needless to say this is a very mature wine now. Some bottles will be better than others.
  
  Even so at minimum I’ve found it to be a balanced gentle wine with considerable length.
  
  12.5%! Cork.

  Decanted before drinking. Tight and one-dimensional at first but started singing after 1.5 hours and stayed the course for the next 3-4 hours. Great complexity - plum, cherry, vanilla, and spice notes abound. Medium-bodied and tannins have integrated nicely. Still plenty of fruit left.
  
  I’m sure this wine has the legs to further age and improve, but have no regrets about opening and enjoying this bottle. Will open my second and last bottle in about 5 years.

  Drunk for lunch of boeuf bourguignon. 12.5%. Deep opaque garnet with bricking to rim. A nose of haunting complexity. Ripe sour cherries, damsons, leather, bacon fat, sandal wood and lots more. Firm acidity and mellow tannins make for smooth drinking. Great length. There are so many elements in this wine. A veritable cornucopia! Just delicious! At peak and likely to last another decade easily.
