I thought this held up remarkably well. I was concerned when I had some issues with the cork. Dark fruit, blackberry, cherry, leather and tobacco. Finished it in one sitting, tannins were nicely integrated and it went well with the prime rib.
Deep red center, red rim with signs of age. Intriguing nose of strawberries in balsamic vinegar, bing cherries, blackcurrants, tar, some greenness, touch of mushrooms. Balsam on the start, lighter red fruit (strawberries, raspberries and some cassis), modest acid and tannin, wood and stalks, okay length on the finish of fruit and wood. At or slightly past its peak, drinking well.
