Stark’s: This wine had nice classic cabernet character, tobacco, blackberry, earth notes, and well integrated for a 2001; the mouth/flavors were smooth, intense, beautiful. This had nice balance, classic character, and showed well at 6 yrs old.

Edendale: Very dark opaque black-purple; stong nose of vanilla oak and raspberry puree; concentrated mouth, very fruit forward, ink staining. This is a typical over the top oaked, rich cab that is difficult to drink at the end of a meal. Well made for sure, but hard to drink.

Bistro Verdu: Lighter bod than others; Peter P said “lactic”; a bit vanilla-y; a bit flat to me, dry t’s; this did not shine before at home, after decanting, or now. Alone, would be OK.
