  • The supper club meets at Sarah's. Champagne, Burgundy, Loire Chenin and CDP are served. (Sarah's.): There's a nice blast of sweet cherries and spice on the nose before mint and oak aromas take over. Nice ripeness to the cherry fruit, but it's all upfront, unfortunately. The wine has a hole in the middle and is a little too green and slightly bitter on the finish due to the oak. Still, it's pleasant enough, but it's past peak and is perhaps becoming a bit unglued. B/B-.

  • Pretty strong green herbs, olive on the nose, characterising this wine from an unripe year I suppose. Dry earths & some sour dark cherry are the main flavours, with the hints of mild spice and citrusy at the back. Acidity is still lively and mouth coated, has quite a harmony touch and good density as well. Good balance overall and though relatively simple (but pleasant), it somehow keep gaining some weights as the tasting continues.

  • New year gathering at G's house: Alcohol :: 13%
This is slightly more feminine than both Rousseau and Ponsot, colder tone with forest floor, iron, herbs intermixed with blackberry and sour cherry, quite perfume and complex. Sweet entry, good balance between the acid and concentrated sweet fruits. Tannin is more or less fully integrated with very good roundness here. Long spicy infused finish with mineral undertone. A bit straight forward in the mid palate but given better complexity and power in the finish. While not as complex as the other Burgs, this is in fact drinking better today. Delicious.
