At the open: Smells of ripe red cherries, rosemary, and has a cool earthy darkness Tastes of a hint hidden orange over cherry and raspberry, minerals. Slightly reserved, but mouth coating.
90 Minutes (decanted): Smells of wet forest floor, cherry fruit and menthol Tastes of bright black cherry and spices, developing a stronger weight.
Medium-full Bodied+
This wine was a masculine delight. It never quite "softens", retaining its savageness throughout, but its confident black cherry fruit and earth are a beautiful, engaging, combination. Perfect with our roasted duck.

Just a small taste of this, but this was quite alright. Typical chambertin seems fairly open, but could proably lie down 3-5 years. 91-92 pts. Very promising.

PnP - could benefit from some time as it improved with air
Smokey red notes, earthy floor, and minerals dominate an effusive and open nose; palate is highly acidic and alive, maybe not enough meat to match the verve but good attack and a vivacious wine. Drinking well

Drunk over two evenings, better on the second. Very 2008, very Bruno Clair and very Cazetiers. At age 13, still quite bright crimson colour. A bouquet where red cherries and wild raspberries dominate. Also soil and sous bois undertones, dried herbs and chalky minerality. Finally, a greenish element, a hint of freshly cut herbs. On palate, an austere entry and finish. Crisp, tart, crunchy red cherry with raspberry and spritz of cranberry. Again a touch of green herbs - with earth, dry underbrush and some Gevrey animale - but, by no means, under-ripe. Juicy but fine and refined, the tannins now quite svelte and well integrated. Below mid weight - reflecting the vintage - but with appropriate volume and concentration. Focused, precise, but not aggressive acidity. Long mineral finish. For optimal drinking now and until 2030 or so. 93+
