  • Dark golden color. Very expressive bouquet. Gives me marzipan, fried lemons, butter, yoghurt, pastry, newly mowed grass and lots of forest mushrooms. Vibrant and complex nose. The palate is a bit less exiting at first. Lemon candy and a watery feeling. Unbalanced towards acidity. But after an hour it wakes up and shows much more weight and power to balance out the acidity. Peaches, tanguerines and bitter almonds. Still lots of mushrooms on the nose.

  • I am a little bit disappointed with this wine. I usually go for the similar priced Vinzelles from Bret brothers which is consistently one of the best value whites from Burgundy. I found this much less approachable, there is plenty of fruit and chalk and complexity there, but for me it's just too acidic.

  • A bit more toastiness on the nose than the Les Mures; on the palate, a bit more intensity than the rest of the range, but the acidity is also more intense in a way that is not great. 88-89
