This is the first Ridge bottle I've ever opened after the date recommended on the bottle ("most enjoyable through 2011"). On opening, the nose was not all that pleasant. Not obviously flawed, but suspect. The taste was actually surprisingly good, though. Seemed a bit more depth than when I opened my other bottle in 2010 and all in all it was a fun mid-weight CA Chard. After a day or two, the taste caught up with the nose, alas, lending some credence to the Ridge drink-by date.

Very light and refreshing with a thicker mouth feel than I get with most California Chardonnay. It. went very well with a dungeness crab prepared Asian style. It had a lot more depth and character at cellar temp vs. drinking it closer to fridge temp.

Nougat, honey, honeysuckle on the nose. Light toast, yeast, peach, honey on the tongue. Light alcohol burn at the finish. So lovely.

Medium bodied, with some oak, but fairly well balanced. Some lemon notes, along with maybe a bit of peach or apricot.
