Brought to a dinner of pinots form around the world. Only better wine was a Burgundy, which I also brought. Really quite good, in a ripe, modern style. Drank alongside a number of California atrocities that try for the style and are awful.

Really quite a bit riper than I remember tasting with Caroline at Spatburgunder dinner in New York, and carrying a bit more oak than I remember. Really quite modern in style, buy quite well executed within that genre.

Monthly tasting club "The Tasting Club" 2019-04; Spätburgunder (By RvD): In the bouquet creamy caramel and lactic red berry fruits. On the palate creamy vanilla, red berries, butter milk and some earthy impressions. Interesting wine. 89+?
