Time to drink this Bordeaux. It isn't fresh any more but all of the great characteristics of a well made Bordeaux with some aging are there. This isn't top shelf stuff so don't expect it to be. I found it pleasant with a steak, featuring a current and dark fruit, herbs, with a smoky/tar/leather Bordeaux component. Still some tannic grip so it could last longer but you don't want to loose the fruit. Nice bottle of wine and even better since it wasn't expensive. Leftovers were fine on day 2 unrefrigerated. Cheers!

Tasted this bottle at a little soirée after a hunt - although nice did not quite live up to expectations. Aromas of smoked gammon, mint, oak, Terry's chocolate oranges and tobacco (American Spirit). Not a very full body on this wine with its upper-middle palates DISTINCTLY lacking. Nevertheless was an enjoyable drink and managed to quaffe a couple of bottles in the end while enjoying a debate about the merits of Brexit. All in all, not one to give the wife for a special present, rather a small thank you gift for the groundskeeper.

Most of the notes below still apply with perhaps amplified barnyard notes. Very enjoyable for its age and reasonable price.

Very tight the first day. Much better the second but still did not come together and show the fruit I expected.

PNP: Old wood and grape nose. Tannins not integrated yet. Has just enough fruit to go a few more years.
