My first rouge from Ramonet, and I was very impressed. A bit red-brown, but the aroma and palette are still remarkably fresh, with lots of tangy, sappy red fruit. Showing some secondary characteristics, too, and for me, it's in a nice mid-spot on the aging curve. Not especially rustic, but would match well with hearty, wintry classic French cooking.

Dark red with some brown elements in the color profile; fully transparent. Aromas of sous bois, coffee, cherry, and spice. Palate is initially lean with tart cherry, sous bois, and black tea elements. With air, strawberry, rhubarb, and beet elements join the initial fruit profile and this fills in nicely. The finish is medium-long and acidic. Plenty of structure to hold this together, but the fruit was better in this wine's youth. Still very enjoyable. Drink or hold.

På topp nå vil jeg si. Fryktet at denne var over toppen basert på hva jeg har lest om 01 burgund i det siste. Veldig fornøyd med denne, søt fin frukt uten å være søtladen. God struktur og underliggende syrlige bær. Bra.

Decanted for 2 hours. Starting to show secundary aromas of forest, darker berries. Some wood, well integrated. But still with firm tannins and lot of fruit. Worked well with roasted duck. My 5th bottle, 4 left. I will open another bottle next year to follow the developement.
