A nice improvement from the bottle I had 4 years ago, which was very nice but more closed. We did this quasi blind, just picking which wine was the ‘04 Ducru and ‘04 Cos, knowing it would be one of the two. It was an easy pick (although it is easy to second guess when others are I siting otherwise). The profiles seemed unmistakeable. The curry fruit and rustic but pleasing tannins gave this one away. Glad I have a few more bottles at home!

What a lovely showing for this wine. Looks dark and inviting with some brick around the rim. Nose is just lovely, mellow, but full of fruit, and earthy bordeaux complexty. Palate is more of the same, very smooth with resolved tannins, but still fresh acidity and lovely sweet earthy currant, dark plum and berry fruit. Nothing really stands out in this wine, but put together its just a lovely experience.
Sadly, not as glorious as I expected but still a very nice tasting experience for a classic old BDX with a dark red, bloody color and flavors of graphite pencils, young cassis berries, black cherry and wet cedar. I guessed that my bottle wasn't going to benefit from a long decant, so consumed over a span of 4 hours. Very little aromatics which improved slightly over the evening. The finish was 20 - 30 seconds and mildly tannic. I suggest you drink it now.

Lots of bright fruit, but not much else in this bottle. A touch hot to boot.
