Cedric Bouchard Les Ursules 2008. Småpen - litt flat nese kanskje. Bedre intensitet i munn med god lengde og nydelig mineralitet. En fin vin, men en tanke slapt. 91p

(From a 0.9721 ha plot) PNP, tasted with Zalto Universal glass which is highly recommended: Medium golden colour with fine mousse. The understated nose starts with golden apples, lemon and florals. In time developed (or more like integrated into) raisin biscuits that is highly alluring.
On the palate highly acidic, mineral, full of flavours of golden apples and a long tail of citrus fruits. Medium+ bodied and finished quite long. Surprisingly approachable at this stage.
Upon 1 full day rest in fridge with stopper: What is the most impressive to me is the texture of this wine - quite round from start to finish without sacrificing any of the precision and elegance.
There is a lot to like about this wine. The only barrier for it to be ranked even higher is mostly due to a slight lack of evolution in glass / complexity that I came to expect for a truly great Champagne. Would like to observe this over a longer period of ageing.

Fantastic showing, exceeded expectations, one of the best bottles of champagne I've had this year. Everything working here - alluring and complex nose that shows fruit and soil, beautiful silky texture, great focus and energy, detailed and complex flavors that spread out in the mouth and show real depth and nuance. For the first hour or so the fruit is dominant, ripe and luminous. Then the next hour is about chalk and a saline Chablis-like soil signature. Beautiful wine.

(Roses de Jeanne / Cédric Bouchard Champagne Blanc de Noirs Les Ursules) Light yellow color with lots of speedy, very tiny bubbles; appealing, light reduction, tart Rainier cherry, tart pear, lime nose; very tasty, rich but delicate and detailed, mineral, lime, tart apricot palate that is lightly honeyed; medium-plus finish (100% Pinot Noir; disgorged July 2010)

8th Annual QoA Fundraising Dinner (Chez Nanda): 08 Ursules/04 Dom/04 CdC flight. This more than held its own with the big houses. Great brightness with a weightlessness.

Rich and full bodied. Biscuit, ripe apple, baked nectarine flavors. A terrific qpr and one of our go to house Champagnes year to year.
