Purple-hued ruby. Spicy, new oak, white pepper, dark berries, leather, roasted coffee, sweet up front with a robust somewhat drying mid-palate, turning just a bit chewy before lingering for a medium to long finish. Decant or wait a few years. Lots of structure here.
Didn't enjoy this quite as much as the bottle we opended 6 months ago. Decanted for an hour and a half. Dark berry and black cherry fruit flavors mix with a strong streak of dark chocolate. Drying tannins on the finish that need more time to resolve. This has plenty of power but it needs some time to settle down and open up.
