Still lots of red fruit aromatics, cherries and cranberries with some plumb/prune notes as well. A little heady upon opening and lots of sediment upon initial decant. started to get to together nicely in about 30 minutes and continued to improve with secondary aromas of wood espresso and forest underbrush. A very fascinating transformation after several hours going from almost an Ausi cab aromatic when opened, to a ripe Bordeaux nose. Very round tannins which are well integrated and nice acidity towards the back end with a flavor reminiscent of tangerine skin. Nice long finish with good wide flavor profile. Based on this bottle I would say that drinking windows stated here on CT are way too stingy. Even better on 2nd night (stored without ullage in a small bottle). This should drink well for another 3-5 and may get even better if it develops additional tertiary flavors. Recommended decant of a minimum 3 hrs.

Deep garnet. Initially, a lot of bottles that made me think that it was over the hill. But with double decanting it blossomed. An older Cali, but still had fruit a hint of forest floor. Taste was smooth and hit all corners of the mouth. lasted at least 30 seconds after swallowing, a very good showing for an older bottle that I would say drink up

Had with dinner and several bottles of outstanding wine, this was in my top 2. 4oz left in bottle kept in fridge for 48 hrs brought to room temp and re tasted Age is visible in the color which is starting to turn from deep ruby to deep garnet Nose of stewed plum and cherry, baking vanilla, milk chocolate, cola faint notes of grass/ hay as an accent and intermittent wafts of night jasmine( noted on second tasting) a joy to smell Palate Montmorency cherry, oak, fruit on mid palate on initial tasting was more pronounced, now some tartness but not unpleasant. full mouth feel with some astringency on swallowing that lingers then fades to dense fruit Giving a salt of the earth quality that does not yield to pretension This wine is ready to drink and may not improve with additional age

Needed a couple hours to open up. I mistook the label for 2008, and thought it tasted younger; so even mores so for the2003. Still with plenty of tannins for more aging. Really good.

Deep garnet. Nose of anise, black fruits, taste mellow, hint of acid on the finish. Black fruits, hint of licorice, long lasting. Very good.
