France: 38 Wines from Kermit Lynch (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Soft, mild, and slightly funky aromas. Rich and heavy body on the palate, which is smooth, soft, and pretty mild, showing some funky old lemon notes. Overall, quite lean and mild. Lean again on the finish, with decent acidity driving tart notions, but really not too much depth here.

(Raveneau Chablis 'Butteaux') The Butteaux was soft and lush, forward and buttery. It was nice and easy, fully mature and flashing some signature 1992 sweetness. It will not get any better, but it is still an enjoyable drink although some might find it leaning on the flabby side of town
(François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux) Group's #7 (my #4) – 97 pts.; 0, 2, 3, 4 – canary golden color; sherry and sweet lemon butter nose; sweet/tart lemon and cream palate with oak edges, minerals elegant and earthy at the same time, with a waxy texture showing toward the medium-plus finish 92+ pts.
