Popped and poured. This is a medium dark red wine, a bit darker than most Nebbiolo-based wines I have had. The nose is nice, with odors of sweet tar, rosehips, and licorice. This is less enjoyable in the mouth – it carries some rough edges of sharp kirsch, although that smooths out a bit with time. The finish is slightly spicy with some blackberry tones. Overall, this was okay but not great, although a relative bargain for the price. I would recommend a couple hours of air before drinking. 89 points.
