Still deeply inky maroon in the glass. Rich cassis on the nose. Hotly alcoholic in the mouth, with the cassis to the fore. Elegance is added and the fruit tempered by that petit verdot and cabernet franc. Tannins are still grippy but balanced with the abundance of fruit remaining. Nice acid. Hugely enjoyable and a very long finish. To be a real contender in my quest for New World bargains to replace pricey Bordeaux, this would need less alcohol-heat but it was a delicious Sunday lunch offering which felt special enough and at £17 a few years back, I'm happy

Not bad. A little plummy with smoke, oak and tart cherry. The finish is a little disjointed with some bitter tannins. Overall pleasant but not sure it will ever improve. Well I was wrong. I gassed this bottle and revisited it 3 days later. Now, it is a beautiful soft integrated wine. Give it a few more years and a proper decant, maybe a 91.
Green herbaceous notes coupled with jammy black (blackcurrant and plum) fruit overtones. It's all a bit out of whack and, perhaps, never going to be in whack. Double decanted an hour before consumption.

Explosive plummy fruit, blackberry, cherry, currant, oak, caramel-molasses note; a bit gooey, jammy with spice notes. Cloudy, unfiltered, rich, diffuse. Fun contrast to the Bordeaux, and even Napa cabs in this tasting. Enjoyed this wine this time. Maybe because it was freshly opened.

Decanted for about 2 hrs. Nice dark fruit nose. Tastes of dark fruits that were consistent throughout the bottle. Fruit-forward (in a good way).
