As a prior reviewer noted, this wine can be herbaceous at the outset, but we found this flavor faded with some air time. A good hour decant provides some real benefit.

This opaque ruby wine is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Cabernet Franc, whole-berry fermented in 100% new French oak and aged for 21 months in new French oak. It is a rich, fleshy specimen teeming with cassis, bramble fruits, dark chocolate, hazelnuts and black olives. Full-bodied, fresh and seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%), it wraps its flavors with big sweet tannins and is impressively dense on the mid-palate. From start to finish, the oak plays a complimentary role and does not overwhelm the fruit. Long and luscious on the finish, this is an opulent, hedonistic Cab which should hold up well for many more years. Drink now-2028.

No formal notes, but this was leaner and more herbaceous than the '07 recently consumed.
