This wine was nicely balanced with a less pronounced nose and character than the Breton and the Rougeard but still quite nice and sort of sat in the middle between somewhat rustic and full (Breton) and elegant and complex (Rougeard). EWG Loire dinner at Otono

This is a lovely wine. Fall leaves, tobacco, dark red fruits, hint of green pepper. There is depth and nice balance. A really nice Chinon. No doubt this will continue to develop with age.

Deep as the Mines of Moria, this has a penetrating quality where the aromas and flavors become images in the mind, and not just the impressions of the senses. It is clearly Cabernet Franc, but it transcends Chinon, reaching towards a singular expression that defines a place, rather than being merely of a place. There is fruit, and tobacco, as well as an earthy quality, but it’s the sum of the parts that is different, that’s larger in its being.

Totally a pointe for my taste right now: medium weight, silky tannins, gorgeous red fruit, smoke, earth, pencil lead. It's got it all, in a graceful package. Last night with broiled venison chops it was singing.

What a gem. A totally different of expression of Cab Franc and Baudry's wines... so elegant, almost soft, but full of life. Really loved this.
