Tasted semi-blind (I knew the wine but not the vintage). Lovely floral nose, sous bois, dried thyme and red fruit notes. Tasted next to the 1982 and was better, more balanced and fresh. Quite elegant and in a wonderful place now.

Beautiful nose of tobacco and cocoa. Unfortunately the tobacco notes (almost like Copenhagen dip) overwhelm on the palate. Not spoiled, but lacking fruit or other complexity. Disappointing

Decanted this bottle 3 hours before dinner. Still lots of fruit and freshness along with classic Pauillac notes and mature but still evident tannins. In a great place now and no rush to drink any remaining bottles over next 3-10 years.

Perfect, mature claret. Initially seems to have held up better than the 1989 consumed as well. The 90 has a little fruit still, while the 89 is more leathery. Under vacuvin both were quite similar the next night. Good but not the most complex.

Great bottle, very fresh! Pencil shavings and tobacco notes, lots of ripe fruit that shows the warmer vintage but with the restraint and austerity of Pauillac compared to the 78’ Trotanoy and 84’ Diamond Creek we drank side-by-side.
