PnP w/15 min glass time. Clear, deep dark purple. Wow, one of the best CA Merlot's I've ever drank in this price range. Absolutely perfect drinking window/balance, correct verietal nose/taste, tannins fully integrated, med body/weight, super balanced. Delightful drinking, nothing off. I was afraid it may be over the top but got it right at its peak. Great value, $18. (91-92)

A well-made wine, but slightly uninspiring. The nose initially almost too much garnet and marzipan, during the evening coming together in a more Bordeaux-like manner. The good tannins disappearing with time. More excitement, please!

Served with skirt steak with a watermelon and red onion relish at the Gibby's June tasting. Garnet color with aromas of cherries, plum, milk chocolate, thyme and sage. Sweet tannins, with some vanilla, plum and spice flavors on the finish. Paired well with the dish.
