At first, this seemed quite mature and perhaps past its best with a darkish yellow color and softer palate. However, after 2 hours of air it blossomed and the finish became so complex and the texture beguiling. Note to self; decant all Raveneau wines!

Strong lemon colour. Gentle white flowers, a hint of honey, citrus fruits. Medium weight, refined and precise. Flavours are pure citrus and honeysuckle with good intensity. Lovely rich minerality, with a long spicy finish. Very fresh, excellent acidity. Delicious.

Robinson wine dinner at mad cap. An incredible example the potential of aged Chardonnay. Alluring flinty nose that is so indicative of Raveneau. Fruit singing and acid all there. One of the most consistently delicious white wines in the world.

Served cold to start but really blossomed as it aired/warmed up. classic Chablis, with that stony saline & white floral character. Still youthful, I’d think there’s further upside too (94+)

(François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre) Light lemon yellow color; nice tart lemon, mineral, lemon poppyseed cake nose with a touch of botrytis; tasty, tight, tart lemon, mineral palate with a sense of salinity; medium finish

Softer and larger than previous bottles. Resolved with mineral and chiseled impacts, quite large and sublime on palate. 93
