Bottled in the 60’s and recorked in 2011. Extraordinary density and viscosity. Sweet fruit is well balanced by acidity. Aromas remind me of the communion wine growing up. A special wine for its age of course, but this isn’t merely a novelty it remains a beautiful and memorable wine.

One of 32 vintages tasted at the estate. What an amazing evolution that took place for the two hours this was in my glass! The finish on this is ethereal, and lasts for minutes. One of the greatest Madeira's I have ever tasted.

Like thick crank case oil. Grilled nuts and toffee. Viscous, moderately sweet, fabulous acidity and saltiness. What else can I say? This is over 150 years old and still alive and kicking.
