  • 125ml from Coravin at Noble Rot Lamb's Conduit Street.

Complex and inviting nose. Sweet violets and spice. Hint of earthiness.
Beautiful acidity and tannins. Multi-layered. Ripe fruit - iron fist velvet glove cliche.
    Very long finish.
Something special for me. I am glad I tried it. Still very fresh and I would not have guessed its age.

  • Same btl as my buddy rocknroller and his contribution. I was chomping at the bit to drink my first Ponsot with significant maturity but this btl, confounded me. I found it challenging to love. Its "inner mouth perfume" trait just didn't work for me & the main obstacle to my enjoyment. I gave it a determined go over a couple hours but, never synched up with it.

  • Haunting Dinner (Ciao Bella, Mpls): Medium bricked red minus color, slightly cloudy color, 3mm clear edge. PNP, drank a glass plus over 2 hours. Well this really struck me tonight. Intensely perfumed and complex on the nose; very earthy, dried forest floor, truffle, dried strawberry, red cherry, cigar, pencil shavings and spices. The palate is elegant and harmonious, dried strawberry, dried cherry, spice box, tobacco, sauvage, dried spices, all in a resolved, penetrating package filled with an inner perfume. Fantastic flight with the '02 Montille Pez side by side. 95+ to 96pts.

  • Only 1576 bottles produced.
Opened at 4pm, double decanted just before dinner four hours later.
Color is light and now tending to garnet.
Immediately after opening this showed very dark and fleshy fruit. Later for dinner, it went clearly towards tertiary notes, of autumnal forest floor. After time in the glass it got cleaner and more precise towards leather. Very elegant.
On the palate it's remarkably smooth and silky. Body and lively acidity. Not much fruit, all on minerality, in a deep way. Very good, but I liked better the Fourrier of the same vintage drunk some days ago.

  • Beautiful structure, immense finish, the fruit is vibrant and while it is drinking well, the wine could handle a few more years to take on some earthier tones. I could still taste the finish of the Ponsot while we were deep into the next bottle of Bordeaux!
