  Decanted 1 hr. ahead. Deep garnet color with a bit of brown. Fragrant nose with relatively mature scents of cedar, tobacco, red fruit compote. Medium-bodied on the palate as it strives for elegance and almost makes it. Flavors are nice but a bit toasty; acid balance is in the middle. Finishes well with light grip, cherry flavors and light tannins. This is a more mature version of the wine that I drank about 3 years ago, and its evolution has been very instructive. The cedary, "forest floor" tones are still here, as are the red-fruit flavors. "Lodi" traits, such as extraction, have ascended somewhat, causing a slight downgrade. Still, it's a very interesting bottle, very much worth drinking.

  Deep red and purple in color, cherries and dark fruit on the nose. Plumb and cranberry up front, becoming currents toward the middle, velvety finish lingers. Balanced fruit and tannin, opens nicely in the glass.

  bright cranberry, touch of sage/lavender and dank forest on the nose right after opening. bright acidic cherry and red rasberry with a bit of tanin and tar on the finish. Love the diffrent initial taste of this wine. after it opened a bit more maple and fruit on the nose, and bright tart red friut taste with lovely balanced mid and finish!. loved it!!!!

  Decanted for 1 hr. Ruby color. Nose has black fruits, forest floor, oak, vanilla, baking spice. Very pleasant on the palate, with good acidity, tobacco notes, and fine fruit balance with just a bare hint of the syrup quality that often characterizes Lodi wines. Cranberries and light tannins in the finish. This is a very stylish wine, toward the richer end of the scale, pleasantly earthy. The lively acidity makes me think it may have more potential in Lodi than the much-touted Zinfandel. If you need something somewhat dark & rich but not over the top, then this could really be for you. Things are really held in balance here in a nice way. Keep it? Maybe a few years.

You feel the oak on the palate, pretty dark and then reinforced with the sulfur note. Not "bright" to my palate its certainly tasty in that darker "rhone-ish" way, although realizing that this in not a rhone variety.
