Drank from a 375 which I normally don't trust. This is an absolute stunner. Classic, big but not over extracted. Pretty nose of violets and wild berries. Wonderful. Changed my mind about Alexander valley. Fantastic
This may be as good as Sonoma Co cabernet gets, and given that it was blown out a year or two ago at $40/bottle, it's an outrageous bargain, worth 3 times the price. An unusually deep minerality drives this wine, with chocolatey cat piss, green pepper and mentholated violets, but all of the elements come together with real poise. With easily a decade of softening and integration ahead of it, it still tastes great right now even if it's a little raw.
Two hour decant. Purple/ruby color. Med/low legs. Full nose of red currant, green bell pepper and herbs. Red currant, herbs, ripe tomato and licorice palate. Good balance. Suede texture. Med/long finish. 14.0% ABV
