NYD 2009 party bottle. One of last two 2002 OR pinots, both opened at this party. King Estate is a little bigger style wine than I typically like from my PN's, but it does hit the middle ground between those of us who like the cool climate PN's and those who prefer more upfront fruit in their wine. Very plush on the palate, with some blue fruit notes mixed in with sweet dark cherry, also some tobacco and light coffee notes. Tannins were smooth and the finish was relatively long and big for pinot.

The wine was bigger than I expected and could have sat for a couple of more years. Very good though.
