Beautiful, well structured and cool fruit. It’s almost blue and there’s the marks of earth and stone I’ve found in old Marcoux bottles recently. Very impressive and not going anywhere anytime soon.

Concentrated fruit and crushed violet. Creamy, thick, and sweet, almost liqueur-like with fully resolved tannins and no noticeable alcohol. At its best two hours after decanting, then declined slowly after that. Good now and not likely to improve.

(Domaine de Marcoux Châteauneuf-du-Pape) Black cherry red color; nice kirsch and black fruit nose; tasty sweet cherry, plum and spice palate with pepper edges, tannic toward short-medium finish (85% Grenache, 7% Syrah, 5% Mourvedre, 3% Cinsault)

Wine was cloudy and bland well over the hill.

Needs some air. Complex and multi-layered. Quite powerful and long. Well balanced. No heat. Excelllent.

Popped and poured thru a venturi. Good immediately and continued to improve til finished. Recommend two hours in decanter.
