Dark ruby. Nose was mute for about thirty minutes then gave off scents of raspberry, violets, cherry pits, anise, sea air. Ripe but crisp red raspberry and mulberry fruit on the palate with undertones of mineral and iron fragments. Copious acidity and still firm tannins leading to a long finish of rolling red fruit, earth, and tensile grip. Larger wine but superbly reigned in.
Another fabulous bottle with a very alluring nose of smoke, christmas spice, and red berry fruit. This seemed weighty in the glass for a pinot. More red berry fruit with a bit of earth and hints of black pepper. Nicely balanced with a long finish. But the nose on this - really terrific.
