  • Evolving in the past 6 months!
The tannins are velvety and structured. The flavors are blackberry, black licorice,, forest floor.
I really like it tonight with duck brrady and parmesesn crusted golden squash.
Decanted for 55 minutes. Maybe thats what it needed. It was Beautiful Tonight.

  • From a perfectly stored bottle. Drank amazingly well upon opening, but continued to evolve for the next three hours. A beautiful nose of red cherry, candied flowers, black pepper, fresh leather, and pencil shavings all nicely balanced with a hint of petrol. Suave herbal palate with tart cherry, plums, and licorice. The finish is short and a bit thin with a touch of heat, but has an appealing sour herbal note with lingering minerality. This is not likely a wine for long aging. Based on this bottle, it appears to be at peak maturity, but should drink well for at least another five years or longer. Not a top tier wine, but spectacular quality and great value in a good vintage.

  • After 30 minutes:
Interesting nose of dried flowers, dried pine needles and sour cherries. Med-bodied, this is pretty delicious, with pine forest floor and more cherries. Still tannic, but only lightly so and starting to dry out a bit. 91

After 3 hours: Fading fast. Drink up

  • Quite nice, perhaps a little too well behaved, meaning right out of the bottle tannin and acid were perfect, aged red fruit, plum, earth, leather, light tar, tobacco. Any edge or development with air noted in the past was not really present here. That said it did not fade either. Thus, lovely before, a polite dinner companion, and enjoyable after.
