From double Magnum the colour is so deep violet, could be Priorat 2007. For his Age in phantastic shape, served a Little bit too cold, but after half hour a nice malty sweetness with ripe Tannins, cigar box and subtle cassis, 91-92

Avery Family Cellar Inaugural Wine Dinner - Really old wines (Eddie V's - Tysons Corner, VA): Rather delicate nose displaying bright red fruit, strawberry, plum, a hint of green that gives nice freshness, cedar, ash and earth. There is a hint of dirty damp cellar that is bothersome. Medium concentration, delicate bright red fruit driven palate impression, good acidity and the finish is clipped by the dirty damp cellar note. If clean, this would have easily merited 95pts. It is still quite enjoyable.

Bernard Burtschy dinner at Taberna del Alabardero (Taberna del Alabardero, Washington D.C.): Cooler overall impression, compare to the 45 Saint Pierre. Red fruits, cedar, caramel, plum and blood. Medium concentration. As the wines get to 50+ years, VA tends to emerge. This is no exception but for me, it becomes a positive attribute, adding freshness and complexity.

Epic Wine Dinner at Bourbon Steak (Washington DC): The color on this wine is striking -- despite 63 years of age, it looks like a young Burgundy. The nose opens with herbaceousness, and is followed with tart cherries, tomato, rust, and iron. The palate is impressively bright, with mouth-watering acid.
