not blind For a 2006 very fresh and with less botrytis notes. Typical refreshing Vilmart notes. Love the power of the power without losing his elegannce. 92-93

Not blind In good shape for 2006, disg. 2015. Tropical fruit, honey, botrytis note from the vintage good acidity . The proof, Laurent champs is a magician in difficult years. 93 great to drink now

From magnum - this was so, so tight. Pale straw, some lemon, some spice, ginger - this took more than a couple of hours to truly open up. Will drink down the 750s first and keep this for another time.

Mid yellow colour, still quite youthful in appearance. This has gained a little richness over time but is otherwise quite primary still - Apple, pear, citrus, slight elements of honey and almonds. Feels like still coming out of a tight phase. ***1/2+

(Vilmart & Cie Champagne Premier Cru Grand Cellier d'Or) From magnum - light yellow color with abundant, steady, tiny bubbles; lightly savory, tart apple, pear, yeasty nose; tasty, poised, tart pear, mineral, tart peach, chalk palate; long finish (disgorged Feb. 2012) 93+ points
(Vilmart & Cie "Cuvée Grand Cellier d’Or" Brut) ($97.00) Available later this year, so we may have a gap between vintages here. It’s 80PN/20CH as always. Though we have to wait, it seems quite ready. Has all the deep reverb of ’06, and a wonderful apple-butter and clove-like spicy “sweetness;” completely open and sanguine despite 2/11 disgorgement. A chubby happy baby. Hints of espresso, cocoa bean and sandalwood.
