Transparent but dark red fading toward the rim. Medium plus intensity and complexity on the nose, with notes of dark plum, blueberry, black olive, pipe smoke, potting soil, and faint gym floor mats. Medium plus body, medium acidity, and supporting but tame tannins support flavours of dark fruits and smoked sausage. Good concentration of flavours, with meatiness, fruit, toasted notes, tar, and earth. Almost seems like a Nebbiolo-Pinot Noir blend in some respects. A very interesting wine to be sure- unique, old-world styled, and fair priced. While nothing seems far out of balance, it does seem like a wine that has a difficult time finding itself- or maybe I have the hard time finding it. A good and fun experience, so best approached with no expectations.

Very feminine, old worldish Syrah. Reminiscent of a Burgundy or Spatburgunder. Impressive wine and totally NOT new world Syrah. Treat it like a Pinot Noir in food pairings and in general.

Blueberry nose with licorice, berry and smokiness on the palate. Tannins have dissipated but still not over the hill.
More of a rhone style syrah.

Dark red, nose had fruit, wood, and earthy odors, not to appealing. Taste had too much alcohol to enjoy
