nose- with time i sense a compote of dark berry. closed. mouth - rich dark berry, coffee, torrefactive, exactly like you'd want in a throat lossenge. a tad medicinal but not disqualifying. the fruit power here is undeniable. this wine is a feat and likely will be widely appreciated. hold.

Stupendous value at $13 (Acker auction). Like a CdP at CdR prices--and it looks as though it was sold on release at not much more than I paid for it. But looking at the old reviews, I'm mystified, unless there was a lot of bottle variation--some people think it's over the hill, others that it's not ready to drink. It's certainly ripe and ready right now, still a lot of rich fruit overlying the spice and garrigue.

The bottle I had tonight exceeded my expectations! It was a symphony of color, aroma, and taste. Garrigue, dark, nicely resolved tannins, lingering acidity, long satisfying umami notes leaving me very happy. Very glad to have another bottle of this beautiful wine!

As before, just wonderful, pure pleasure in the glass. Absolutely at peak of perfection for a CdR.

Popped and poured. Quintessence of cote de Rhône! Oldecorke had it down precisely: beautifully balanced.
