Brought to Roux for dinner. This was drinking very nicely. Dark fruits, substantial body, and nice mouthfeel. There are some hints of secondaries, but this is primarily fruit driven. As such, it's not that complex but it is delicious for what it is. No hurry to drink the other two, but also not clear to me that this will really improve. Should drink other bottles in the next couple of years.

Shook air into the bottle and let rest at cellar temps for 45 min which seemed about right. Plenty of pixie dust on the cork so a decant may have been in order, but not today.
Definitely from a cooler vintage, this was an elegant sophisticated version of the O’Shaughnessy Howell Mtn masterpiece. Cool berry fruit—black cherry, black raspberry, forest floor, charred hardwood, pine forest. Still some tannic structure left (in a good way) and plenty of acid that tells me this can go for many years. 95 (again). I don’t think this gets much better, but it ain’t goin’ South anytime soon.
Post-script—after 2.5 hrs this really amped up a notch. Blind I would have nailed this (incorrectly) as a Chateau Montrose from a great (slightly warmer?) year (05 or 09 maybe?). Quite the compliment! Upped score to 97.

Consistent with my notes from 9 years ago. This wine has aged beautifully and has lived up to its full potential.
