From an optically perfect bottle purchased from winebid. Wonderful nose with a perfect blend between Bordeaux and Napa.
Slightly riper than expected, but still a brilliant wine.
Chamomile, cedar, plum and roast crust flavors on a wonderful structure with great sweetness, fine tannins and perfectly background supporting acidity.
A delight!
I’m hoping that other bottles in my cellar and a closely guarded Magnum (all from different sources, but all with great levels), might even be more youthful.

Method: opened maybe a couple of hours before I arrived; Cab glass
Nose: earth, cedar, plum
Palate: plum, graphite; long finish of pepper and graphite; dry; medium body; low+ suede tannin
Overall thought: In a great place now with a bit of earth enwrapping the more common primary and secondary notes, while the tannins have almost melted away, with just enough remaining to add some pleasurable texture. Great wine.

(Joseph Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard) Dark red violet color; berry, black fruit palate with brett and green methol notes; tasty, tart berry, cassis, brett and mint palate; medium finish 92+ pts.
(Phelps Cabernet Sauvignon "Eisele Vineyard") This was slamming. Nose of red fruits, smoke, earth, and huge cuban cigar notes. Deep, rich palate balanced by wonderful acids and a mixture of red and black fruits. Aromas much more complex as the wine aerated. Really good stuff.
