  • Amazingly good bottle even though a bit of the wine had leaked through the cork. This is one of the better pinots I've ever had. Massive bright dark cherry (not a mistake in terms!), very good complexity, evolves for 45 seconds in mouth, good structure, and finish. Very good.

  • bottle was flawed - had leaked and wine had lost most of it's magic. Still drinkable sort of but not good

  • This wine was not giving much but I enjoyed its austerity and class. Dark fruit profile with a touch of smoke and mineral. Med body with high acidity, balanced, it showed more fruit than on the nose. It reminded be of a good Pommard: firm, focused and elegant.
Showed little sign of evolution so I'd keep it a few more years without hesitation.

  • What a beautiful wine...black fruit on the nose; cherry, cherry and raspberry with hints of mocha caramel. This wine is drinking perfectly right now and represents the best of Oregon Pinot. More medium bodied, but a long full finish in the mouth, lingering on the tip of the tongue. Wow. Not often I would suggest seeking out an Oregon Pinot at auction but this one merits some effort to taste. My suggestion - do not decant - open and let the first pour open in the glass for about 15 minutes then start the experience. Pace so you have at least 3 hours to enjoy the progression.

  • A delightful bottle - points for sheer loveliness. No hard edges, some structure from a bit of acid and a tiny bit of leftover tannin. Decent, earthy nose. Very nice mouth of canned bing cherries and black pepper. Lively finish that lingers just a bit.
