Weekly tasting group #183; Portugal and Spanish Tempranillo (@ My place): The bouquet is still a feast; mature and a bit dusty, but also sweet spices, tobacco, earth, iodine, eucalyptus and a pleasant dose of oak. On the palate the wine disappoints a bit because the (old age) acidity is a bit too dominant. There are still red and some dark fruits and bell pepper and the tannin is a bit drying. Still nice, but drink soon. 87 - 88, but because it will not improve I put 87 in CT this time.

Weekly tasting group #129; Portugal (@ SB): Mature bouquet with impressions of rust, cocoa and sweet spiciness in the bouquet. On the palate completely dissolved tannin, some ripe red fruits still, but also tea and the first signs of reduction. Ok acidity, pleasant sweetness. Still a very nice wine, but on the brink of going past its prime. Drink soon.

Clear medium red. Elegant nose, earth, red fruit and pepper. Delicious red fruit flavours and a slightly rich dry finish.
Better then my note describes.

Dark fruit, Asian spices and beef jerky. Delightfully mature.

Medium/dark red. Pepper, black berry, earthy funk and roasted meat. Delicious spicy red fruit and a touch of oak flavour and a medium weight finish.
On the earthy meaty side unlike the 05 served after this.
