Like another reviewer, the cork on my bottle crumbled as well. that made decanting a must. I was totally blown away with the magnitude of this wine. Bold rich fruit with solid but balanced tannins. The lingering spice notes to carry the finish to a long and enriching end. Would expect this wine to last many more years, if only I had more....
Probably at its peak right now. Beautiful berry, cigar box, black olive, cocoa notes on the nose, and in the mouth its all integrated and powerful. Tannins are resolved/resolving, but there's still great structure. Long, fine finish. Loved it.
Was worried by an earlier review this might be waning so we opened a bottle tonight. The cork disintegrated so I decanted, but otherwise the wine was superb, rife with deep and complex aromas and flavors of dark fruit and spices. Tannins still had presence, but softly, so my take is this vintage still has a ways to run. All is right with the world once more.
