Just wow. This was a beautifully bloody and nuanced Syrah. Over the night the bouquet adjusted from an initial stank, to black fruit with earth, and back to a good stank again. In the mouth, it was big and a great mix of full fruit, blood, tobacco, and pepper. Good long finish. This is drinking beautifully now and probably has some years left, but it won't get any better. This is my benchmark US Syrah. Yum.
This is exquisite. Gamey, dark fruit, hints of iodine, steel and stone. The nose alone can bring endless pleasure with Asian spice and a hint of black olive. Silky smooth body with a very complex finish. All I could ask for.
Dropped into a decanter for an impromptu get together. Best glass was the last glass at 4+ hours of being open. Black olive, cured meats, iron, funk, with black fruits way behind the other components. VERY complex, spectacular bottle of wine.
Nose of dark berries, herbs and olive. Full bodied, balanced, young tasting wine. Good minerality on the palate and very good finish. I think this has plenty of life left, easily another 10 years. Drank very well but I think the aromatics should improve with more time in the bottle.

(Cayuse Syrah Cailloux Vineyard) Opaque red violet color; sexy, deep roasted plum, pepper, green peppercorn, tart black fruit nose; tasty, rich, plush, tart black fruit, roasted plum, pepper palate; medium-plus finish (decanted for 6+ hours)
(Cayuse Vineyards Cailloux Vineyard Walla Walla Valley) A downright stinky nose with manure, burnt embers, and purple fruit. A well fleshed out, meaty palate dominated by olive flavors in its rich, expansive middle. Drinks like a well-cooked steak. 14.2% alcohol.
