Rich and round, with spicy red apple and biscuit, noticeable dosage, and juuuust enough acidity to make it drinkable. I prefer my sparkling wines with more acidity and more bracing than this, but it avoids that metallic hollow character found in a lot of cheap sparking wine and I imagine this would be a big crowd pleaser. Held up well over four days in the fridge, showing drier and more citrusy over time.

(NV Roederer Estate Brut Sparkling Wine Anderson Valley) From the moment you pop the cork, you can smell this aromatic sparker which is woven with fresh baked bread notes, yeast, pear, and spices. The oak ageing here provides the palate with a bit of extra richness and depth leading to a lingering finish. An outstanding sparkling wine at this price.
