Medium ruby in color. Aromas of lifted spice and hint of florals, red morello cherries, tea leaves and forest-floor. Medium bodied palate shows sweet-sour red cherries, cranberries, medium acidity, fully integrated tannins and medium spicy and earthy finish.

Light bricking red in color. Lovely understated aromas of bright red morello cherries, forest floor, hummus, wood spice. Light to medium bodied palate shows sweet-sour bright red berries, good acidity, inner mouth florals/spice and an earthy finish.

This was drinking very nicely. Not a ton of power but some good complexity. No secondary characteristics, but drinking really well and would say drink up. Pousse d’or produces good Volnay and are unjustly maligned as a producer

Light brick red in color. Lots of autumnal fallen leaves, hummus, red berries, wood spice and touch of dried florals on the nose. Very savory palate shows earthy sour red berries, good acidity, resolved tannins and a smoke/soil tinged finish.

Popped and poured. This is a translucent ruby wine with minimal sediment at the very end of the bottle. The nose is nicely fragrant, with aspects of black tea, fallen leaves, spice, and some burnt brush clippings. The mouth is crisp with a focus on bright red fruits. That theme continues on a lip-smacking finish carrying red cherry elements for 25-30 seconds. Overall, this is very enjoyable and probably near peak. 90 points.

(Pousse d'Or Volnay Caillerets) Medium colour with some purple reflections. High-toned aromatics are the main theme. Well-mamanaged tannins and a dark, slightly reductive element. The fruit in the mid-palate is lovely before fading into a medium length.
