NOSE: moderately expressive bouquet of light garrigue, fig, and chalk along with hints of spice and maple; a bit green.

BODY: fine particulate matter; hazy rustic garnet color; light bodied.

TASTE: a bit tart, with flavors of cigar wrapper, gentle garrigue, plum, and a hint of underbrush; well-balanced, and not alcoholic; weak rear palate; short-medium finish; this is a good food wine, and should be consumed now.

  • Bright red fruits. Clean and light. Good food wine. Simple and quaffable.

  • Consumed at home with Tyler Florence's "Hunters' Minestrone". Bright disc. Deep ruby robe with red rim. Clean nose, opening over one hour to show moderately intense aromas of black and red currants, smoke and roasted herbs. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity and big, slightly dry tannins. The flavors mirror the nose. While the middle is a bit thin, the resurrected finish is medium-lenght and fairly smooth. This wine should drink nicely for several more years. It is truly a screaming value!
