  • Purchased at retail on release. Decanted for sediment. Deep purple color tending toward opaque. Distinct nose of dark purple fruits with musroom/ forest floor and cigar wrapper.

Sweet dark blueberry and blackberry fruits on the palate. Earthy notes with more cedar/cigar wrapper and dark chocolate notes. Smooth and polished fully integrated tannins. Medium + finish where the dark fruit is even more prominent.

A really great example of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. We're I to taste it blind I would have thought it was a Napa cab rather than Sonoma. My dinner companion remarked that it reminded him of some older Inglenook cask bottles.

  • Beautiful California Cab. Luscious but now settled. Optimal fruit/tannin balance.

  • I'm more with Mr Buzz here, although would score higher. Distinctly Bdx-like in flavor profile with cedar and earthy components and leather and fruit rather muted. Wish I had tried these earlier but decided to hold these as birth year wines for my son and now that he's legal, we are enjoying them with him and in this case, as part of his college graduation weekend. Still quite pleasant perhaps a decant would have helped, but not necessarily the fireworks I might have hoped for given Parker's glowing review from all those years ago

  • 45 min decant. Together with an amazing 1996 Jota Anniversary Release a few years back, this is the best mature Cali Cab I have had to date. Dark garnet almost to the rim. On the nose deep dark fruit, a touch of toast / coffee and soil. On the mid palate again still excellent fruit concentration, this is dry and not sweet - very much in a old world/Bdx style. Fine to medium tannins. Medium (+) finish.
Excellent Cali Cab that would do well in a top end 1990 or 1996 Bdx left bank tasting. On the other hand, the price, if you can find this wine, is also at 1990/1996 LLC level.

  • Still drinking superbly ! The best Sonoma Cab (along with some vintage of PM Les Pavots) ever produced in my humble opinion

(Fisher Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Wedding Vineyard) From magnum - gorgeous berries and black currant nose; chocolatey, rich, young yet, cassis, with grainy tannins; medium-plus finish
