  Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour. Clear deep dark garnet color. Classic bouquet of creme de cassis, dusty blackberries, dried black cherries, forest floor, fennel, anise, lavender. Some transient savory umami notes of soy sauce and dried game were not bothersome. Full body on the palate, seamless, beautiful balance, lingering finish. Showed best on first day with two hours of air.

  4th Saturday Group: Uptown Brown Bag (R&Ds): Double blind. Vanilla and buttery tones, with clay and plummy fruit as well. Medium-bodied with integrated tannin. Flavors of plum, prune and just a hint of bouillon too.
