Huet-A-Thon (Bay Area Edition): I get a little sherry on the nose, but it blows off. On the palate, I’m reminded of orange marmalade, a combination of sweet and citric sourness with a hint of pleasing bitterness on the finish. Texturally, rounder and softer than the ‘02 and ‘96. This may be in a wormhole hurtling towards a better place, but it is rather pleasurable right now.

This pours light gold in the glass. Great color considering some age here. The nose unfurls nicely over the course of a few hours to show green apple, white flowers, honey, crushed rock, dried lemon peel, and fresh white mushroom. The palate enters on honey drizzled fresh green apple with medium plus, focused acid. The finish lingers nicely replaying stony mineral and whisps of green apple and floral honey.

With some sugar but despite good storage it seemed to be oxidizing. I think it’s time to test if you have bottles, or drink up. I will be. Well integrated sugars, petrol and caramelized, oxidized notes. Got better with a bit of air.

Deep yellow/light golden. A little honey and burnt sugar. Full, glycerine texture. Crystalline, pure quince and citrus. Off dry entry but excellent acidity leads to a drier finish. No oxidation. Mature but should stay at this level for some years.

Medium yellow. Flowers and yellow fruit. Pleasing medium+ weight with some glycerine but not as dense as Chenin can be. Off dry, succulent pear fruit, excellent acidity, a bit of soil and grapefruit on the finish. Outstanding and completely fresh.
