Community Tasting Notes (1) Avg Score: 88 points

  • It is not often a wine is better on the palate than the nose. But due to a marked VA note, that's what took place here. Opened to celebrate my fathers birthday, once past the nose, the wine was still delivering an earthy, tobacco, forest, herbal, leaf and full-bodied, cherry note on the palate. I was surprised by how much volume and depth remained for a wine that's close to 85 years of age.
