Light and airy nose. Pretty dry with minerals, cinnamon, baking spices and apple pie - tart yellow apples. Stones and hints of lemon or lime I think - but behind the pie. The palate is similar to the nose - very airy and racy. Drier than I would expect. Maybe verging on bony. The baking spices are there and so is some apple but there is more lime, lemon, stony minerality. The midpalate shows a bit of that apple pie but there is a lot of savory minerality and bitter stone fruit pit as well. Opens with air and warmth - somewhat. Definitely on the leaner side - sleek but with good flavor and depth. Finish leans up a bit with apple, lime and minerals. Very good but missing the depth and complexity at this point of the best Christoffel bottles. Nose -5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16-16.5/20.

Medium intense nose with all the classic aromas of a mature Mosel Riesling. Honey, browned butter, kerosene, cream, redcurrants, cilantro and pears (gråpäron).
High acidity, off-dry and well balanced. Medium intensity and a long finish. Fairly slender.
This is a fantastic wine! When uncovered I was surprised by the age, this feels like it has plenty of years left in it. Drinks perfectly right now though, and I wouldn't hesitate to open this had I had some myself.

What an interesting wine and a definite favorite at the table. This had all sorts of sour citrus flavors going. There was maybe just a touch of the gasoline you sometimes get in Riesling. The acidity had really died down over time so was more just a nice light wine. A touch sweet, but certainly not overpowering and felt like the sugar might have broken down a bit. Different and tasty.
