Drink 'em if you have 'em. This was over the hill, but still enjoyable. It tasted like a Pinot that was ripe when it was young, but has now turned slightly pruney. Not decanted, served in Riedel Vinum Burg stems.

Brickish color. Bright nose with cherry, bark, hint of forest floor. Good acid, medium weight, nice balance with cherry, lead on palate, moderate finish. Very nice still. Enjoyed by all.

Drank with the 2010. Huge contrast in style—the ‘10 is light and a little austere with shy berry flavors and a pronounced citrus/acid character. This opened with an almost disturbing bouquet of wet earth and something else (tobacco?) and tasted a little funky too, with meaty fruit flavors. After 4 hours it smelled much better, more like PN though still with loam and barnyard notes, and tasted great. Strong plum and other dark fruit flavors with some dark chocolate, white pepper and light tobacco notes. Very good, but I don’t think I would have known that this was a PN if I tasted it blind—came across more like a lighter bodied Malbec to me.

Light purple. Glass closure. Opened and tasted over several hours. Black raspberry, cherry, fully mature, drinking great, smooth and crisp finish
