This was a special occasion bottle of wine. I know it's still young, but I expected more for this price point. Dang Rimmermon sucked me in again with (d)illusions of grandure. I suppose if I give it a few years the next bottle might live up to the billing. Right now though, it's a "Meh".
From a blend of 93% Merlot and 7% Cabernet Franc, the wine offers dusty, fresh, dark cherries, plum, chocolate and earthy tones. Soft, silky and polished, the round finish serves up sweet dark berries, espresso bean and cocoa.
Dense and concentrated with high quality oak. Loads of plum with hints of crushed rocks, mushroom and spring flowers. Very high quality but not exactly my style. Palate is plush, and a bit lacking in acid but finishes long and plummy.
